Prof. Kenneth Zeichner

Kenneth M. Zeichner (born c. 1947) is Hoefs-Bascom Professor of Teacher Education and Associate Dean for Teacher Education, University of Wisconsin–Madison. He received his Ph.D. in 1976 from Syracuse University in educational psychology and has been on the faculty at Madison since that time. He has had visiting appointments at Umea University (Sweden), Simon Fraser University (Canada), and the University of Southern California. His book Studying Teacher Education: The Report of the AERA Panel on Research and Teacher Education won the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education Outstanding Writing Award for 2006. He received a Fulbright senior specialist grant in education at Charles Sturt University in Australia. He was awarded the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education’s Margaret B. Lindsey Award for Distinguished Contributions to Research on Teacher Education in 2002; UW–Madison School of Education’s Distinguished Achievement Award in 2000; the National Staff Development Council’s Best Non-Dissertation Research Award in 1998; an Award for Excellence in Professional Writing from the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education in 1993; the Association of Teacher Educators’ Distinguished Teacher Educator Award and its Distinguished Research Award in 1990; and was named Wisconsin Teacher Educator of the Year by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Mary Koutselini is Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Cyprus, Chair holder of the UNESCO chair in Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, Head person of the Department of Education and Head person of the Center of Gender studies of the University of Cyprus. Her areas of specialization and research interest are: Teachers´ Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Gender Studies, and Citizenship education.

Dr. Pasi Reinikainen

Dr. Pasi Reinikainen is a Chief Consultant of Public Education Evaluation Commission in Saudi Arabia, where he is constructing national evaluating system to the Kingdom. Dr. Reinikainen has Ph.D in Education and Licentiate of Philosophy in Applied Nuclear Physics. Mr. Reinikainen has made an extensive national and international career within education evaluation sector during the last 20 years: Secretary General of the Finnish Education Evaluation Council; Resident Twinning Advisor of EU Twinning project focusing on strengthening the National Evaluation system of Egypt; Consultant in EDU/OECD, in France, Research Director in Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences, Finland; Liquidator in the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture; Senior Researcher in the Finnish Institute for Education Research, and Teacher and Lecturer in all the levels of Education.
Dr. Reinikainen has received various Awards and Grants. His special interest is in education evaluation focusing in large scale international student assessments, national assessments and evaluations, constructing national systems and bodies of education evaluation and educational policy making. He has also been involved in constructing analytic framework for OECD’s TALIS, in study of Teacher Education Curricula in EU, and is now involved in constructing national teacher certification system in KSA.

Mehmet Şişman (born 1951) is Professor in the field of Education Management at the Osmangazi University, Member of Council of Higher Education Executive Committee, former Administrative Committee Chairman of Foundation of Osmangazi University (OSVAK)He has books and articles about Education System Management, School Culture, Organization Culture and Teacher Education.
